We’ve been using Adobe products from the advent of desktop publishing and remember the days of PageMaker. We’ve personally spent thousands of dollars on Adobe software, only to see it all become obsolete. Not because it’s not useful, it’s just part of planned obsolescence, the same reason Apple releases a new OS that won’t run on older machines. Now with its cloud model, Adobe wants you to pay a subscription, equivalent to a cable bill, to use just one of its apps. Since we use older Macs, we couldn’t even use the new Adobe Creative Cloud if we wanted to. And that sucks. So, in the spirit of old but useful technology, we’ve dug up a couple older versions of InDesign for your use. We’ve tested both, and they work, and don’t seem to contain anything malicious (but use your own precautions here). You can download them at the links below. We’ll be adding more old apps as we see fit and if you have old software discs, don’t throw them away! Enjoy.
